Bolton Wanderers managers admits club can’t spend on a top-class striker

Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson has acknowledged that the club are not in a position to recruit Championship-tested players, although he is hopeful of the hierarchy doing something to reinforce the frontline. The striking department has once more been the weak point for the Trotters through the campaign and they are currently lying in the relegation places heading into the final months of the season.

Speaking to reporters, Parkinson admitted that there are issues left to be sorted in the frontline, which has been weakened by the return of Christian Doidge to parent club Forest Green Rovers. However, he has suggested the need to be realistic with the targets, given they cannot afford any permanent transfers this month.
