Phil Parkinson looking to make the most of the loan window

Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson is looking to make the most of the loan window after the club failed to acquire their desired targets before the permanent transfer deadline last week. The Trotters were keen on signing Charlie Wyke and Joe Garner during the dying stages of the summer transfer window but their efforts went in vain after they were outbid by Sunderland and Wigan Athletic respectively for the afore-mentioned duo.

As a result, Parkinson is hoping to make use of the loan window to strengthen the squad and speaking to The Bolton News, he said: “Every manager in the Championship has said he’s looking to add to his squad. It is going to be very competitive and I’m not sure there’s enough to go around. We are still three or four players short. But I am confident we’ll add some quality over the next few weeks. I’m pleased with the way the new lads have settled here and the start to the season we’ve made but we know we have got to add in key areas of the team. I’m focussed on getting them.”
