The season of Bolton Wanderers kicked off with Dougie Freedman and his players not being able to claim a victory during their opening 10 matches but in the last few stages of the campaign, they managed on securing a series of consecutive triumphs and Freedman is hoping that his squad can continue their positive streak for the upcoming season.

Bolton Wanderers claimed successive victories against Blackpool, Wigan Athletic, Huddesfield Town, Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley but it wasn’t nearly enough for them to get a playoff position. Freedman is hoping they can start the upcoming season in a similar fashion.

“If we show any sort of form like we have recently in the opening half of the season then we’ll be in the top six, simple as that. I’m fed up of watching celebrations for Birmingham and Leicester and I want that here’’.

“Our club deserves that. We have had a couple of difficult seasons, everyone included right from the chairman down to the players and myself. We do need a good start, we need the right people to stay fit and then we can break into the top six. I think we’ll be a force when that comes.” Bolton Wanderers coach Dougie Freedman said.

Freedman also took the chance to shut down claims and links involving Mark Davies. The 26 years old midfielder of Bolton Wanderers has a contract with the club that runs up until 2017 but he has been absent from the playing grounds and training sessions after picking up an injury that will be leaving him out of action for around 10 months.

For the past few months Leicester City has been heavily linked with Mark Davies as the players’ next football destination but according to Dougie Freedman, there has been no contact with the recently promoted club which will be battling it out in the Premier League, in the upcoming season
