Bolton Wanderers who are bound to play in the Sky Bet Championship next season have released three players after getting promotion, according to BBC.

The Trotters released 29-year old Mark Davies who joined eight years back while the club was in the top flight.

Davies has scored 16 goals in 208 games but it seems his fitness concerns played a part in his sack. Davies is receiving treatment for cruciate ligament injury.

Thirty One year old Dean Moxey was also offloaded. He scored two goals in 82 games in his three year stay at the club. The other player is 29-year old former Stevenage and Charlton defender Laurie Wilson.

The players who were on a loan deal last year; Andrew Taylor, Chris Long, James Henry, Viv Solomon-Otabor, Adam Le Fondre, and Tom Thorpe have all returned to their parent clubs as Wanderers plan for a new adventure.
The club said they were in negotiations with out-of-contract players that they wanted to keep for the Championship. The club was recently hit with winding up petitions. Finance company BluMarble issued them with the petition over an unpaid £5 million loan. HMRC and Special Catering Company are reported to have issued them with petitions as well but the club has denied them.

The club claimed to have settled the issue with Special Catering Company months back while they address Burnden Leisure issues at the moment.

They are focusing on plans for the Championship with manager Phil Parkinson after finishing in second place in the League One.

The chairman Ken Anderson said the club does not owe anything close to the £25 million figure purported in the media but he admitted that there is an outstanding £5 million that Dean Holdsworth’s company Sports Shield BWFC owed.
