Bolton Wanderers moved into the next stage of the FA Cup after defeating York comfortably. York could have gone ahead when Ashley Chambers had a sight of goal but he misplaced his pass instead of shooting.

Neil Barrett's effort was saved well by Adam Bogdan as York pressed but from the counter attack Kevin Davies lashed Bolton in front from eight yards.

Johan Elmander wrapped up the win, curling into the corner from 25 yards.

In the only Premier League versus non-league fixture in the third round, York gave a fine account of themselves, troubling the home side in front of about 4900 travelling fans.
